Ridge defends security plan in House

WASHINGTON, July 15 (UPI) -- Director of Homeland Security Tom Ridge Monday defended President Bush's plan for a security agency in front of a House panel that will draft security legislation. Lawmakers in both parties have signaled they believe Bush's plan would combine the wrong parts of government in some cases and put too many agencies under one roof.
