EPA to clean WTC apartments

NEW YORK, May 8 (UPI) -- After saying for eight months that there was no significant health risk from the dust from the collapsed World Trade Center, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced Wednesday that it will clean the dust from apartments in Lower Manhattan. "We are pleased that the EPA has decided to accept responsibility for protection of residents of Lower Manhattan," said Joel Shufro, a spokesman for a coalition of unions and health professionals.
