Hundreds sworn in as NYC firefighters

NEW YORK, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- More than 300 firefighters were sworn in Monday to the New York City Fire Academy on Randall's Island in the first class of new recruits since the city's bravest lost 343 firefighters in the attacks on the World Trade Center. "You get to demonstrate the concept of love in our society," said New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.
