His production backed a solid outing on the mound from Brett Cecil (1-0), who was called up from Class AAA Las Vegas before the game. The left-hander held the Phillies to two runs on five hits in a five-inning effort.

Philadelphia's Kyle Kendrick (2-7) was roughed up for six runs (five earned) on eight hits over 6 1/3 frames.

John Mayberry went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and Jim Thome also went deep for the reeling Phillies, who fell to 4-12 in June.
