NBA: New Orleans 98, LA Clippers 87

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- A 22-point performance from David West Wednesday sent New Orleans to a 98-87 win over the Los Angeles Clippers that ended the Hornets' three-game skid.

Los Angeles slipped to 2-8 on its 11-game road trip, the Clippers' longest of the season.

New Orleans took an 11-point lead into the fourth quarter and easily held on while making 51 percent of its shots for the game.

Chris Paul added 19 points, 10 assists and six rebounds. Willie Green had 17 points.

Blake Griffin, winner of the slam dunk contest during the All-Star weekend, had 21 points and 13 rebounds for the Clippers.
