NBA: Golden State 102, New Orleans 89

OAKLAND, Calif., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Monta Ellis scored 21 points and David Lee and Dorell Wright scored 16 apiece Tuesday to help the Golden State Warriors beat New Orleans 102-89.

A 36-point second quarter spurred the Warriors, who have won two in a row and six of their last eight contests.

David West and Marco Belinelli both had 15 points for the Hornets, who have lost eight of 10. Chris Paul was 4-of-12 from the field and finished with 11 points.

New Orleans hit just 3-of-10 shots from 3-point range while the Warriors went 10-of-19.

The Hornets led by 10 after one quarter but the Warriors erupted in the second, outscoring New Orleans 36-21 and taking a 58-53 at halftime.

Golden State extended its lead to 94-74 midway through the fourth quarter.
