MLB: Kansas City 8, Toronto 4

KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 25 (UPI) -- A two-run single by David DeJesus keyed a six-run eighth inning Friday that brought the Kansas City Royals from behind to an 8-4 victory over Toronto.

The Blue Jays lost their fifth in a row, making four errors in the process.

Toronto scored three times in the top of the eighth -- two of the runs coming on a double by Scott Rolen -- to take a 4-2 lead. But Kansas City sent 11 batters to the plate in the bottom half.

A.J. Burnett (2-2) was on the mound to start the frame and retired Alex Gordon on a pop-up. Jose Guillen then singled to right, Mark Teahen walked and Billy Butler singled in the first run of the inning.

Scott Downs relieved Burnett and got Ross Gload to bounce to third. But David Eckstein bobbled the ball, allowing Teahen to score. John Buck doubled home Butler and, after Tony Pena was intentionally walked, a double by DeJesus drove in two runs to make it 7-4.

Alberto Callaspo singled in Pena before Gordon and Guillen struck out to end the inning.

The win went to Leo Nunez (2-0), who worked the eighth inning.
