ROCKVILLE, Md., June 17 (UPI) -- U.S. company Innovative Biosensors Inc. announced it has signed a strategic manufacturing and distribution deal with Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.
IBI says it signed the manufacturing and distribution agreement with Thermo Fisher in a move to meet growing market demands. As part of the deal Thermo Fisher will manufacture IBI's BioFlash biological aerosol collection, detection and identification technology.
Officials say Thermo Fisher will distribute the threat detection technology under a license agreed to as part of the manufacturing and distribution deal.
"We are excited about this relationship with Thermo Fisher," Joe Hernandez, IBI president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"Thermo Fisher's world class manufacturing capabilities will enable us to satisfy the growing market demand for the BioFlash … the extensive Thermo Fisher sales and marketing organization will enable the BioFlash and associated consumables to be offered on a much wider basis in new markets."
