LOS ANGELES, March 2 (UPI) -- Sarah Hyland has joined the cast of ABC's Dirty Dancing remake.
Jane Brucker played Lisa in the original 1987 romantic drama, while Baby and her love interest, Johnny Castle, were portrayed by Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze. Breslin was announced as Baby in December.
Dirty Dancing follows the romance between Baby, a sheltered teenager, and Johnny, a working-class dance instructor. Lisa, who is more outgoing than her sister, falls for Robbie, a womanizing waiter played by Max Cantor in the movie.
The Sapphires director Wayne Blair will helm the TV remake. Glee music producers Adam Anders and Peer Astrom will oversee the music, with Anders and Crazy Heart producer Jody Cairo as co-producers.
Hyland is best known for playing Haley Dunphy on ABC sitcom Modern Family. The series, which co-stars Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Ariel Winter and Sofia Vergara, is in its seventh season and airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
