'Birdman' wins Gotham Award for Best Feature

Julianne Moore was voted Best Actress for her work in "Still Alice," while Ana Lily Amirpour won the Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award for "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night."

NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Birdman was declared Best Feature and its star Michael Keaton Best Actor at the Independent Filmmaker Project's Gotham Awards ceremony in New York.

Julianne Moore was voted Best Actress for her work in Still Alice, while Ana Lily Amirpour won the Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award for A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night.

Tessa Thompson received the Breakthrough Actor Award for Dear White People and the prize for Best Documentary went to CITIZENFOUR.

A Special Jury Award was presented jointly to the three leading actors in Foxcatcher -- Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum -- for their ensemble work in the film.

The Gotham Independent Film Audience Award went to Boyhood.
