LOS ANGELES, July 17 (UPI) -- When the Emmy nominations were announced on Wednesday, the cast and crew of Transparent were filled with excitement once they found out they were nominated in 11 categories.

Because the nominations were announced alphabetically, everyone from the Amazon series about a transgender dad and his three children, couldn't wait until the tale-end of the long list and listen for the letter T.

Creator Jill Soloway was trying to calm everyone down but she herself had anxiety about the announcement. "It was alphabetical order so it was very nervewracking," she told E!. "I would say, 'Guys, it's alphabetical, it's alphabetical,' because people were freaking out."

The show is running for Best Comedy Series. Jeffrey Tambor is nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series and Soloway received nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Single Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Special Class Short Format Nonfiction Programs.

Gaby Hoffmann received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, Bradley Whitford is nominated for Best Guest Actor.

The show earned nominations for editing, art direction, the main title theme music, costumes and casting.
