BEIJING, April 11 (UPI) -- Martial arts film star Jackie Chan has launched a Chinese reality show, "The Disciple," aimed at discovering new kung fu talent.

"A lot of actors are good at fighting, but (their style) is not beautiful," Chan said during a ceremony in Beijing to introduce the series. "If you can incorporate dance with an ability to perform kung fu, that would be better."

The show is jointly produced by Beijing TV, JCE Entertainment, China Film Group and Emperor Entertainment Group, Variety reported. It is slated to run from March to October, with the final competition shot at the Great Wall near Beijing.

Chan said 10 winners would emerge at the end of the competition and will appear in a movie he is to produce.
