'Y Tu Mama' star loving the attention

NEW YORK, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Diego Luna told reporters Tuesday in New York he's thrilled with the attention brought by the success of his break-through film "Y Tu Mama Tambien."

The star of the acclaimed 2001 Mexican independent film can be seen later this week as the male lead in the big-budget flick "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights."

He also has a supporting role in the upcoming Steven Spielberg-Tom Hanks movie "The Terminal."

"I'm proud," Luna confessed in a room filled with reporters eager to talk to him about the updated "Dirty Dancing" film. "I'm happy. I'm excited... It's really fun to be doing what I've been doing and having the chance to work with the people that I've been working with and having the attention also to show my work.

"I remember when we did (press interviews for) 'Y Tu Mama Tambien.' Tables had one or two people and (reporters) were on the phone talking to their kids and now I have some attention," he laughed. "I have a lot of things to do and a lot of stories to tell and I'm glad that there's been some attention in the world."
