Nighy to star in 'Hitchhiker's Guide' film

LONDON, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- "Love Actually" players Bill Nighy and Martin Freeman are set to star in a film version of the beloved book "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy."

The British news Web site ITV.com reports the sci-fi comedy will start production this spring with Nighy in the role of alien architect Slartibartfast and Freeman as bewildered human traveler Arthur Dent.

This will be the first movie by Garth Jennings and Nick Goldsmith, a team famous for their music videos for groups like Blur and REM.

"It's a really good script," said Nighy, himself a huge fan of the book. "It's really, really faithful. All the jokes are there and they're big fat jokes. It's wonderful," he added.
