Top TV programs garner Golden Globe nods

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- "The West Wing," "CSI," "Six Feet Under" and "24" were among the top television nominees when the Golden Globe award nominations were announced Thursday.

Fox's "24" and FX's "Nip/Tuck" were among the nominees for best television drama, along with CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," HBO's "Six Feet Under" and NBC's "The West Wing."

"The West Wing's" Allison Janney and "Nip/Tuck's" Joely Richardson garnered top drama actress nominations, along with Frances Conroy from "Six Feet Under," Jennifer Garner from "Alias" and Amber Tamblyn from "Joan of Arcadia."

Best drama actor nods went to Michael Chiklis ("The Shield"), Anthony Lapaglia ("Without A Trace"), William Petersen ("CSI:Crime Scene Investigation"), Martin Sheen ("The West Wing") and Kiefer Sutherland ("24").

The nominees for best musical or comedy series were "Arrested Development" (Fox), "Monk" (USA), "The Office" (BBC America), "Sex and the City" (HBO) and "Will & Grace" (NBC).

Bonnie Hunt ("Life with Bonnie"), Reba McEntire ("Reba"), Debra Messing ("Will & Grace"), Sarah Jessica Parker ("Sex and the City"), Bitty Schram ("Monk") and Alicia Silverstone ("Miss Match") received best musical/comedy actress nominations.

Best musical/comedy actor nominations went to Ricky Gervais ("The Office"), Matt Leblanc ("Friends"), Bernie Mac ("The Bernie Mac Show"), Eric McCormack ("Will & Grace") and Tony Shalhoub ("Monk").

The Golden Globe Awards will be handed out Jan. 25.
