Harris Corporation wins place on DHS contract

Harris Corporation has been selected for an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide information technology services to the Department of Homeland Security.

MELBOURNE, Fla., May 21 (UPI) -- Harris Corporation has won a place on a Department of Homeland Security contract to compete for information technology service and support works.

The Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions II (EAGLE II) contract is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity vehicle for obtaining IT service solutions in several categories. It has a five-year period of performance with two option years.

Harris said that under the contract it will compete to develop, implement and maintain services and solutions in Functional Category 1 - Unrestricted Track, Service Delivery.

"Harris brings the DHS industry-leading experience and capabilities in cybersecurity, mission-critical networks and IT managed services," said Wayne Lucernoni, president of Harris IT Services. "Harris technology will support DHS' drive to keep people safe and secure against terrorism and other threats."

Specific details about Functional Category 1 and what the work would entail were not disclosed.

Harris IT Services designs, operates and maintains secure communications systems and information networks for government and commercial markets.
