DCS wins WASP delivery order

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 17 (UPI) -- Technology company DCS Corp. is conducting software development, maintenance, and integration for U.S. Navy aircraft mission planning systems.

The delivery order -- for two years and valued at about $5.8 million -- is for the Navy's Weaponeering and Stores Planning, the application that for the planning of missions that will involve the use of air-to-surface weaponry by F/A 18 aircraft. It was awarded under an Air Force's Mission Planning Enterprise Contract II for mission planning systems for the Air Force, Navy and Marines.

WASP software gives F/A-18 pilots the ability to select weapons to be used as well as plan their load plans and weapon delivery and aircraft escape plan for each weapon release.

DCS said work under the award will be performed at its facility in Lexington Park, Md.
