Versar awarded Air Force task orders

SPRINGFIELD, Va., Sept. 17 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted Versar Inc. to support a program to investigate and remove potentially unexploded ordnance at several sites.

U.S. company Versar was awarded two task orders supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwest Division as part of the Air Force Military Munitions Response Program.

As part of the $3.5 million in awards, Versar will conduct a site evaluation at 10 military ranges; stabilize 3,700 cubic yards of at two skeet ranges; and remove any potential unexploded ordnance at three Munitions Response Sites in Washington State among other requirements.

"These awards reflect Versar's increasing participation in the Defense Department's Military Munitions Response Program and overall Federal environmental remediation services," Ted Prociv, Versar president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
