Mikros delivers next-generation radar tool

PRINCETON, N.J., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Mikros Systems Corp. says it has delivered its next-generation radar automated maintenance tool to the U.S. Navy's USS Bunker Hill (CG-52).

New Jersey-based Mikros announced the delivery of its new Adept V2 system to the Navy for implementation with the USS Bunker Hill (CG-52). The Adept V2, a developmental evolution from the Adept V1, aligns with the AN/SPY-1 radar system, acting as an automated maintenance tool.

Officials say improvements for the Adept V2 include a weight reduction from the V1 design and a more advanced digital interface. The Adept technology offers radar operators an automated maintenance capability that reduces the amount of time required to align the AN/SPY-1 radar system.

"This delivery represents a huge milestone for us as we continue to work with the Navy in executing its modernization program," Thomas Meaney, Mikros president, said in a statement.

"We at Mikros are proud to provide equipment to the operating fleet that will ensure improved readiness."
