B&B ARMR to deploy anti-terrorist barrier

CARROLLTON, Texas, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy announced it has contracted B&B ARMR Corp. for a anti-terrorist barrier systems for several Naval facilities.

B&B ARMR is a subsidiary of Integrated Security Systems Inc. The company is a safety equipment and security software developer for the U.S. Homeland Security Department among other commercial, industrial and governmental markets.

Company officials announced a $370,000 order of B&B ARMR's Model 850 portable vehicle barriers for use at three undisclosed U.S. Naval facilities.

The barrier, capable of stopping a 15,000-pound vehicle traveling at 30 mph, is widely used in military, governmental and industrial installations throughout the world for temporary and permanent applications.

Certified by the U.S. Department of Defense, B&B ARMR's Model 850 portable vehicle barriers meet the K-4 crash rating. Company officials say the self-contained 850 barrier, once delivered to the location, can be deployed in under 15 minutes

Officials say the barrier can be locally powered, battery-backed or solar powered.
