South Korean carmaker Hyundai Motor Co. and its affiliate Kia Motors Corp. announced the recall of 1.7 million vehicles in the U.S. over problems with electronic problems that could endanger the safety of drivers.
Hyundai said it was recalling certain models from 2007-2011 over problems with a stop lamp switch, which, when the driver steps on the brakes, is supposed to illuminate the brake lights and turn off cruise control.
