Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Ryan Reynolds posted on Instagram how he was tricked by Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal into wearing a Christmas sweater.

"These [expletive] [expletive] said it was a sweater party," Reynolds said on Thursday alongside a photo of himself with the actors.

The red and green sweater resembles a gift and features a big golden bow.

A second photo features Jackman and Gyllenhaal laughing at their holiday prank while in the middle of shaking hands.

Gyllenhaal recently joined Instagram and uploaded a video of himself poking fun at his upcoming villainous role in Marvel's Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Reynolds can be seen in Once Upon a Deadpool alongside Fred Savage until Dec. 24. The limited-run film is a PG-13 version of the originally R-rated Deadpool 2 with new scenes added. For every movie ticket sold, $1 will be donated to the temporarily renamed Fudge Cancer charity.

Jackman, meanwhile, announced in November that he will be embarking on a worldwide arena tour where he will be performing onstage songs from musicals he has appeared in including Les Miserables and The Greatest Showman.
