Writer sues Noreen Gosch for back pay

DES MOINES, Iowa, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Researcher and author John Zielinski is suing Noreen Gosch for unpaid work on a book about her son Johnny, an Iowa paperboy who went missing in 1982.

Zielinski says Gosch owes him at least $24,000 for his work on the 2000 book, "Why Johnny Can't Come Home," the Des Moines Register reported.

His lawsuit says the Johnny Gosch Foundation assured him in 1999 that he would be paid for his work, which he says consisted of more than 1,200 hours "writing and rewriting approximately 90 percent" of the text, in addition to some marketing efforts.

Zielinski is seeking a payment of $24,000 and one-third of the revenue generated by book sales.

Gosch, who sells copies of the book for $19.95 at johnnygosch.com, said Zielinski "was never promised any dollar figure of any kind about anything. He's just a troublemaker."
