Thai police discover missing South Korean men at golf course

SEOUL, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Thai authorities discovered Thursday the bodies of two missing South Korean tourists who fell into a river at a golf course in northern Thailand, South Korea's foreign ministry said.

"We confirmed the identity of one of the missing persons with help from his family," said the ministry.

Thai police found a body Tuesday and another Thursday morning about 6.2 miles from where they drowned.

The two men fell into the river after their golf carts crashed and drowned, according to Thai police, Channel News Asia reported. Their wives were rescued by a fisherman nearby.

The report said that more than 50 rescue workers from the military and police were involved in the search mission.
