Russian police searching for man accused of killing ex-wife, family

STAROMINSKAYA, Russia, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Police in Russia said they suspect a 39-year-old man of stabbing his ex-wife, her two daughters and son-in-law to death in the southern Krasnodar region.

The local investigative committee said Sunday it's searching for Yevgeny Marushko, who they believe attacked the family Saturday in Starominskaya due to personal hostility.

Investigators said Marushko allegedly stabbed his 36-year-old ex-wife, her 19-year-old daughter and the daughter's 23-year-old husband, all of whom died at the scene. The woman's 12-year-old daughter was also seriously injured and died Sunday at the hospital from her wounds, RIA Novosti reported.

The names of the victims weren't reported.

The 19-year-old woman's newborn baby daughter was left unharmed in the house, investigators said.

Marushko was placed on the federal wanted list, and if caught and convicted, he faces life in prison, RIA Novosti reported.
