Van fire kills snake and lizard used in circus performance

MIRNY, Russia, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- A van belonging to a circus troupe caught fire in eastern Siberia, killing a snake and a lizard used in performances, police said Sunday.

No human performers were injured in the fire, RIA Novosti reported.

The troupe, which was from St. Petersburg, was heading to a show in the city of Mirny when the van caught fire.

The fire was caused by faulty wiring, police said.

Police did not say whether any animals were saved from the van.
