PARIS, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- French President Francois Hollande says officials are operating "with discretion" to determine where seven French tourists kidnapped in Cameroon are being held.

"For the moment it's best to operate with discretion to identify the exact place where the nationals are being held, probably in two groups, and to see how we can have them released in the best conditions," Hollande told reporters at a news conference.

French, Nigerian and Cameroonian officials have denied reports the family of three adults and four children, who were abducted Tuesday, had been found in a house in Nigeria, Euronews reported Friday.

A Nigerian Islamist militant group is suspected in the abduction.

A French Special Forces team arrived Wednesday to assist in the search.
