TEL AVIV, Israel, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Israel's attorney general added details to a breach of trust indictment on former Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, officials said.
Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein presented the amended indictment, which also includes a fraud charge, Thursday, Ynetnews.com reported.
The amendment adds details of Lieberman's alleged involvement in Ze'ev Ben Aryeh's appointment as ambassador to Latvia.
Lieberman faces a charge of breach of trust for allegedly promoting the career of Aryeh, a former ambassador to Belarus, who had passed information to him about an investigation into his financial dealings there.
"After examining the new testimonies which suggest that MK Lieberman had a bigger role in the ambassador's appointment than noted in the original indictment it was decided to add a number of facts," the attorney general said in a letter to Lieberman's lawyer.
"I repeat I did not break any law and that has not changed," Lieberman said. "I want this matter to be quickly sorted out in court and that is why I have already informed the Knesset that I withdraw my immunity following my resignation as foreign minister. All rumors about a plea bargain are false. The truth will come out in court."
