Protest in Cairo over constitution

CAIRO, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Protesters who rallied in Cairo Friday accused the ruling Muslim Brotherhood of monopolizing the drafting of a new constitution for Egypt.

Dozens of demonstrators gathered in Tahrir Square carrying banners denouncing what they said was a process that failed to accommodate all Egyptians.

The rally was organized by a coalition of liberal and leftist groups that claimed the 100-member Egyptian Constituent Party was not representative of the entire nation.

Ahram Online said the protest was made up of three separate marches that wound their way through Cairo's streets following Friday prayers. Traffic in the capital moved at a normal clip despite the marches.
