Bosnians electing municipal leaders

SREBRENICA, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Bosnians were headed to the polls Sunday to elect municipal leaders with an array of candidates from which to choose.

In total, 84 parties and 30,351 candidates were running for 58 municipal assemblies in the Republic of Srpska and 78 seats in the Croat-Muslim Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Tanjug reported. The most significant race is between Bosniak Ćamil Durakovic and Serb Vesna Kovacevic, who were vying to be Srebrenica mayor.

Four other mayoral races will also be decided.
