Remains of 167 people found in Mexico

OJO DE AGUA, Mexico, March 11 (UPI) -- Authorities in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas say they have found the remains of 167 people which have been there for at least half a century.

In what investigators believe to be a mass grave, the remains were found inside a cave on the New Ojo de Agua ranch. They show no visible signs of violence.

State prosecutors say they will conduct studies to determine the age, sex and cause of death of each person, and have stated they will not rule out "any line of investigation."

CNN reports the finding is sure to attract attention as mass graves have been discovered in recent years throughout the country.
