Children's camp sued for 'sick' games

TORONTO, March 8 (UPI) -- A suburban Toronto town and five day camp counselors are being sued for allegedly inflicting bizarre and borderline sexual games on children last summer.

The parents of two unidentified children who attended the summer camp in Markham, northeast of Toronto, sued after their children said they were made to perform lewd acts, the Toronto Star reported.

The children said to win an ice cream bar, they were told to suck the toe of a counselor or lick the inside wall of a portable toilet.

When the newspaper first reported the allegations last year, one mother said the 38 campers were also encouraged to perform pole dancing in their underwear and run around the outdoor camp with their shorts on their heads.

Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti confirmed at least some of the activities took place in July under the supervision of five counselors who were between 17 and 21.

The Children's Aid Society launched an investigation last month.

The lawsuit seeks $400,000 from the town and the counselors, the Star said.
