KOH KONG, Cambodia, Feb. 29 (UPI) -- One passenger was killed and 46 others injured when a tour bus crashed into a house and overturned in Cambodia.
A resident of the house also was seriously injured when the bus, heading from Sihanoukville to a destination in Koh Kong, spun off the roadway Tuesday, The Phnom Penh Post reported.
A 23-year-old Russian tourist died instantly. The other injured passengers -- 40 of them foreigners -- were taken to a Koh Kong provincial hospital, officials said. Six or seven them were critically injured and taken to a hospital in Phnom Penh Tuesday night, said Suon Samit, deputy director of Koh Kong's Tourism Department.
Authorities said they believe the bus suffered a punctured tire soon after crossing Tatai Bridge in Koh Kong's Koh Kong district at 1:25 p.m., knocking the bus off balance.
A witness said the bus driver, with Paramount Bus Co., fled into a forest.
