About 5:30 a.m., six men were killed 10 others injured in a roadside bombing of a minibus carrying laborers and construction workers in eastern Fallujah, health and police officials said.

The victims had traveled every day in a minibus from Abu Ghraib to Fallujah to work on reconstruction sites, police officer Ahmed Salman told CNN.

Hundreds of Iraqi soldiers, along with military vehicles, participated in a parade in Fallujah Saturday morning, police told the U.S. network.

The parade was part of preparations for the Iraqi military to take over responsibility for security after the departure of U.S. troops on Dec. 31.

Violence has declined from its highest levels but attacks persist in Iraq.

On Thursday, CNN said, 19 people were killed and dozens injured in three explosions in a commercial district in Basra.
