CRANBROOK, British Columbia, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- A Canadian woman has been charged with second-degree murder in the May drowning of a toddler she was baby-sitting, police said.
Tammy Marion Bouvette, 28, of Cranbrook, British Columbia, is expected to have a court hearing Monday, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Tuesday. She was being held without bail.
Bouvette is charged in the death of 19-month-old Iyanna Teeple, who was found face down in a bathtub at Bouvette's home May 26 and was pronounced dead at a hospital three days later. Police said the girl's grandmother had dropped her off at Bouvette's home several hours before she was found in the tub.
An autopsy confirmed the girl drowned, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said.
