Egyptian pipeline hit by explosion

ARISH, Egypt, July 12 (UPI) -- An explosion early Tuesday blew up a major pipeline that carries natural gas from Egypt to Israel and Jordan, officials said.

Egyptian TV said the blast caused a large fire south of Arish in the Sinai, Ahram Online reported.

It is the fourth time this year the pipeline has come under attack.

No injuries had been reported. Firefighters were working to extinguish the flames.

The culprits behind the previous pipeline bombings were never found.
