MOSCOW, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- A 25-year-old Russian woman died after her parents performed an exorcism after she told them "unclean spirits" possessed her, officials said.
After telling her parents she heard voices in her head and was possessed by "unclean spirits," the parents held her down and poured more than a gallon of holy water in her mouth, then jumped up and down on her until she died, RIA Novosti reported.
The parents told authorities they thought their daughter would be resurrected after they drove the demons from her body. The dead woman's baby and 3-year-old boy were taken to another room by her 13-year-old sister during the exorcism.
The parents, from the central Russian city of Voronezh, were charged with murder and were undergoing psychiatric evaluation.
