WASHINGTON, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- President Obama meets with Jordan's King Abdullah II and the baseball's World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday, the White House said.

The daily schedule indicates Obama will:

-- Receive, with Vice President Joe Biden, the daily briefing.

-- Meet with senior advisers.

-- Meet with the Council on Jobs and Competitiveness in the State Dining Room.

-- Have lunch with Biden.

-- Host King Abdullah II of Jordan at the White House.

-- Welcome, with first lady Michelle Obama, the professional baseball's 2011 World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals to the White House. Obama also will recognize the Cardinals' efforts to give back to their community as part of their visit.

-- Meet with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta.
