Miami authorities are trying to figure out why a crowded Miami sports bar collapsed during the NBA finals Thursday night sending dozens of patrons into Biscayne Bay.

About 100 fans were cheering for the Miami Heat at Shuckers Waterfront Grill in Miami's North Bay Village when the deck collapsed at around 9:15 p.m.

Two dozen people were reportedly injured in the incident. Fifteen patrons were transported to various hospitals, two of them were in serious condition, said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Capt. Eugene Germain Jr. One person is reportedly still missing.

“There was just a crack, and then we were in the water,” Crystal Infante, 23, who was eating and watching the game when the deck collapsed, told the Miami Herald. “It was really hard to get out, and you couldn’t find anyone.”

Multiple air rescue units and fire trucks rushed to the scene to help. Miami's 79th Street was shut down during the rescue.

A hostess at Shuckers told CBS4 that the deck collapsed when patrons got on their the feet to cheer for the game.

After the collapse, bartenders reportedly dove into the water to help the victims. Firefighters helped by extending their ladders in the water's edge to help people climb to safety. All this was done in the dark as the restaurant reportedly lost power after the incident.
