S.D. Minutemen founder's home searched

SAN DIEGO, March 22 (UPI) -- Police searched the homes of anti-illegal immigration activists as they investigated vandalism at migrant worker camps in a San Diego canyon.

San Diego police executed search warrants at the homes of San Diego Minutemen founder Jeff Schwilk and Julie Adams, a critic of the canyon camps, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

Police said they were looking for evidence linking the pair to a Jan. 27 incident in which belongings were slashed at three migrant camps in Rancho Penasquitos.

Schwilk and Adams were prominent in the campaign last year calling for a camp in the McGonigle Canyon to be razed, the Union Tribune reported.
