Explosion rocks Ban-Maliki news conference

BAGHDAD, March 22 (UPI) -- An explosion near the office of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki Thursday punctuated a news conference with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

CBS reported a rocket or mortar shell fell near the office, shaking part of the ceiling loose. CNN cited sources as saying two mortar shells had been fired into Baghdad's Green Zone, where the news conference was taking place.

Neither Ban nor Maliki were hurt.

Video of the incident showed Ban briefly ducking below the podium the two were using in addressing reporters. Maliki appeared calm throughout the event and brushed off attempts of his bodyguards to move him from the podium.
