A tabloid, Bon Week, ran a photo of Drucker and Minister for Overseas Territories Francois Baroin. Other newspapers and broadcasters have covered Drucker's job plans, with some naming Baroin. One, the state radio station, France-Inter, did not use Baroin's name but described him as resembling Harry Potter.

Baroin, who is divorced, has also threatened legal action.

In the past, the French news media have given only limited coverage to politicians' love lives. But in the past year, two other newswomen have been involved in potential conflicts of interest. Anne Fulda changed her duties at Le Figaro after she began a relationship with Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy, and Beatrice Schonberg, wife of Jean-Louis Berloo, the social cohesion minister, resigned as a presenter for France 2.
