Al-Qaida message urges more violence

BAGHDAD, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- An audiotape message allegedly from the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq called Thursday for more acts of violence, including the kidnapping of foreign hostages.

CNN said it was unable to confirm that the message came from Abu Hamza al-Muhajer, who succeeded Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, killed in a U.S. air strike in June.

The tape also demanded the release of radical blind Shiek Omar Abdel Rahman, serving life in the United States for his role in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing attack.

Meanwhile, Baghdad police found 60 bodies, all showing signs of torture. That pushed the number of bodies discovered so far this week to 122. Police said most had hands tied and gunshot wounds to the head.
