LANDSTUHL, Germany, May 30 (UPI) -- Kimberly Dozier, the CBS News correspondent injured by a bomb in Iraq, was flown from Baghdad to a U.S. military hospital for treatment Tuesday.
Dozier, 39, was flown to the Ramstein Air Force Base and taken to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.
Her cameraman and sound technician were killed Monday by the blast in Baghdad that targeted the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, with whom they were traveling.
Doctors in Baghdad removed shrapnel from Dozier's head in two surgeries, but said her most serious injuries were in the lower body, CBS reported. However, they expressed cautious optimism about her prognosis.
Her colleagues, Paul Douglas and James Brolan, were both British. Also killed by the bomb-filled parked car were a U.S. soldier and an Iraqi interpreter. Six soldiers were injured in the incident.
