Kerry continues Midwest swing

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry told several thousand supporters at a Milwaukee rally "everything is at stake" in November's election.

"Jobs, healthcare, education, civil liberties, civil rights, the Constitution, Social Security, Medicare, our children, the environment, our future. All of it is on the line," Kerry said in a speech at Pere Marquette Park along the Milwaukee River Monday night.

Kerry crossed Lake Michigan from Muskegon, Mich., by high-speed ferry after addressing crowds in Grand Rapids.

He was joined by his wife Teresa Heinz Kerry, who confronted a small group of hecklers using bullhorns and air horns to disrupt the speech, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said.

"They want four more years of hell," she said.

Kerry supporters drowned out the pro-Bush supporters calling for "Four more years" with a chant of "Three more months."

Kerry is campaigning by bus in southern Wisconsin and northeastern Iowa.
