Investigation made of inmate sex parties

DETROIT, March 4 (UPI) -- The sheriff's department in Wayne County, Mich., which includes Detroit, is investigating reports deputies arranged sex parties with female inmates.

The Wayne County Sheriff's department is close to announcing its findings into the alleged sex parties, WDIV-TV reported Thursday. The parties apparently took place off prison property while the accused deputies were not on duty.

The news report said none of the parties took place inside the Wayne County Jail in Hamtramck, a suburb of Detroit, but the parties may have been planned during female inmates' incarceration at the jail. The reported sex parties also may have been videotaped.

As many as 10 deputies are accused of arranging the sex parties as the female inmates were being released from the county jail, the TV news said.

Since the alleged sex parties took place off county property while the deputies were off duty, it is not clear if the parties were illegal.
