Moscow to host Faberge collection

NEW YORK, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- The world's largest private collection of Faberge art will be on display in Moscow by Easter, according to the new owner of the masterpieces.

Viktor Vekselberg, the chief executive officer of Russia's Tyumen Oil, hopes to hold the first exhibition of his private Faberge collection, in the Russian capital by Easter, the Novosti news agency said Friday.

"For another month the collection will be in New York," said Vekselberg, who saw his purchase for the first time this week at Sotheby's Auction House in New York.

"It will take time to complete all of the formalities: to insure the collection, draw up the appropriate documents and receive export-import permits."

After Moscow, the collection will visit St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen and Irkutsk, he said.

The collection has an estimated value of $90 million.
