Chicago police tries to identify body parts

CHICAGO, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Chicago police are trying to identify human remains found on the tracks of the Orange Line elevated train near Chinatown.

A Chicago Transit Authority train conductor said he thought he had hit a plastic bag about 11:54 p.m. Sunday as the train headed south to Midway Airport, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The conductor said he stopped the train and found body parts -- that appear to be that of a man -- on the track just above ground level, said police spokeswoman Laura Kubiak.

Police do not know if the person was hit on the tracks or whether the remains were placed there, Sgt. Edward Alonzo told the Tribune.
