Enron files employee retention plan

HOUSTON, March 29 (UPI) -- Enron Corp. on Friday asked a federal bankruptcy court to approve a retention and severance plan for the 1,700 employees still working for the Houston company under Chapter 11 protection. Enron Interim CEO Stephen Cooper said the plan was necessary to keep the vital workers necessary for reorganizing the company and maximizing its value for creditors.
