April 14 (UPI) -- He's known for his thoughtful commentary, and on Thursday Martellus Bennett didn't disappoint when asked about new quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Pro Bowl tight end shockingly signed with the Green Bay Packers in March. The signing means that he gets to move from one All-Pro quarterback to another after leaving the New England Patriots' Tom Brady.

"That's like leaving J. Lo and going to Halle Berry," Bennett told the Houston Chronicle. "We talk often. I'm excited about playing with him. We've known each other for a while. I'm excited about working with him and learning his quarterback language and showing him what type of player I am. I think I'm a lot better player than they think I am."
Bennett, 30, started his career with Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys. He then joined Eli Manning's New York Giants in 2012. He played three seasons with Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears from 2013 to 2015, before being traded last offseason to the Patriots.
He earned his first Super Bowl ring after catching 55 passes for 701 yards and seven touchdowns. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said that he thought Bennett could be the best tight end in the NFL.
"We had him in our cutups this year, so I got to see him play a lot of football," McCarthy told the Boston Herald. "To me, he is one of the best or potentially be the best tight end in the National Football League. It's my responsibility to make sure I create those opportunities for him to succeed."
Bennett's three-year deal with the Packers is for $20.2 million. He also had interest from the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders, among other teams.
